Chat4all IRC Network

Chat4all logo

Chat4all is a IRC network founded by Adonix (back then still going by the nick Adonis) in 2000, so we've been around for quite some time, and aren't planning on going away. Over the years he's had the help of several other IRC Operators, such as Saya, Rafe`, Stuffness and the current staff. So his task is getting easier smiley. We are a nice family-oriented network that doesn't believe IRC is a man-only world, with regular visitors from all around the world, so be sure to check out our channel list and join us in #lounge. Over the years, the network has become a home for several communities, of which most are related to lucid dreaming, web-radio, SciFi, gaming and/or spiritual topics. We've survived DDoS attacks, floodbots etc and fully armed to get rid of them smiley.

Chat4All is the IRC network where you can find opportunities to find new friends, chat about your interests, or even find a new love (it has happened and two of our staff are an example of this smiley). Being on chat networks such as Chat4All can make all this, and more, happen. We are an IRC network created to provide a place for people to find new friends and chat about common interests. In addition to a number of multilingual rooms, Chat4All hosts a few Dutch language chat rooms as well. We also support SSL connections, just connect to port 7001 or 6697 if you wish to use this feature.

At the moment we are listed on various IRC sites such as : SearchIRC and Netsplit.

IRC services

Main Services

To provide our chatters with some tools for a nice chat session. We installed some services :

NickServ

Nickserv keeps track of all the registered user accounts. You can Register your nickname on our network, so nobody else can use your nickname while you are gone. A registered nickname also allows you to register chatrooms, and make use of the other services on our network. All commands to the NickServ bot should be prefixed with /NICKSERV (or if your client does not support sending 'unknown' commands onto the server by default, you could either prefix with /QUOTE NICKSERV or /MSG NICKSERV). A shorthand alias is also available as server command /NS. For a list of available NickServ commands, send:

 /NICKSERV HELP

ChanServ

ChanServ keeps track of all the registered chatrooms, and offers various features to manage and maintain your channel. If you have registered your nickname through NickServ, and have operator rights in a channel on our network, you can register it through ChanServ. After you have registered your channel, you can also assign a BotServ channel bot to your channel for even more features. All commands to the ChanServ bot should be prefixed with /CHANSERV (or if your client does not support sending 'unknown' commands onto the server by default, you could either prefix with /QUOTE CHANSERV or /MSG CHANSERV). A shorthand alias is also available as server command /CS. For a list of available ChanServ commands, send:

 /CHANSERV HELP

MemoServ

This underused service allows you to send and receive brief messages to/from on- and off-line users who have their nickname registered

All commands to the MemoServ bot should be prefixed with /MEMOSERV (or if your client does not support sending 'unknown' commands onto the server by default, you could either prefix with /QUOTE MEMOSERV or /MSG MEMOSERV). A shorthand alias is also available as server command /MS. For a list of available MemoServ commands, send:

 /MEMOSERV HELP

HelpServ

If you don't know which bot you need to 'talk' to, to get a specific thing done, then checking HelpServ for more information might be useful. Just type:

 /HELPSERV HELP

HostServ

The HostServ bot can be used to request, activate or de-activate your Virtual Host a.k.a. VHost.

All commands to the HostServ bot should be prefixed with /HOSTSERV (or if your client does not support sending 'unknown' commands onto the server by default, you could either prefix with /QUOTE HOSTSERV or /MSG HOSTSERV). A shorthand alias is also available as server command /HS. For a list of available HostServ commands, send:

 /HOSTSERV HELP

Also read the Vhost article.

BotServ

BotServ is a service of the Anope IRC Services package that allows us to have more pseudoclients like ChanServ. It also allows setting up automatic kicks on for instance on flooding, excessive CAPITALS use and badwords. The separate BotServ article might be filled later on with a more detailed manual of all the BotServ commands.

In the meantime we would like to direct you to our Online BotServ Manual or to our wiki-page about Bots which also describes how to request a BotServ Bot.

All commands to the BotServ bot should be prefixed with /BOTSERV (or if your client does not support sending 'unknown' commands onto the server by default, you could either prefix with /QUOTE BOTSERV or /MSG BOTSERV). A shorthand alias is also available as server command /BS. For a list of available BotServ commands, send:

 /BOTSERV HELP

Fun Services

We used to have some 'fun services' installed as well on our network, namely LoveServ and MoraleServ. Two features you could use to tease or flirt with another chatter on our network. However, since it wasn't used a lot and the bots weren't really maintained, we are no longer offering them

Security Services

These 'bots' are needed to keep our community safe and sound.

Watcher

Our 'big-brother'Smiley. He keeps track of the flooders and annoying virus infected users. If you ever get killed by Watcher, then please read the Watcher article on how you can prevent being identified as malicious user.

ReportServ

this just sits on our server , waiting for YOU to call him. ReportServ is a bot where you can report any kind of abuse, spam or anything else! You are of course also welcome to join us in #support and either leave a message there, or wait for a staff member to respond to you.
